I started rescuing birds from a young age. My love for birds came from my beautiful mother, who loves all animals great and small. Looking back, I probably did not do a great job but as time went on, so did my love and need to help birds. I spend most of my days learning about how to help injured birds, by reading and later google. This went on for many years, caring on a limited scale. As I moved out of home and became a mother myself, life got terribly busy and the rescue side of caring for the birds was on hold. Roughly May of 2016 I went into a local vet and was asked the name of my rescue, which I did not have and decided on the spot to name the rescue after a dear little cockatiel I had lost not long before. I then made a Facebook page, hoping that there would be other people around that would like to help me out with the birds from time to time, as the volume of incoming was more than I could do myself, my daughter Jess, helped out and is also a co-founder of Caspers Bird Rescue That group grew and grew so fast, with more and more like-minded people wanting to save the lives of our beautiful birds. As time went on, and we got bigger we had to register and get all "official" and on 28th September 2017 Caspers Bird Rescue was officially born. Since that time many people have joined out team and we have saved literally 1000s of birds.
